We attended WordCamp Nepal 2025 this weekend, and here’s our quick recap.
The event took place on April 4th and 5th at the beautiful Kundalini Durbar in Kathmandu. It was two days filled with WordPress talks, workshops, and meeting amazing people from different corners of the WordPress community.
In this post, we’ll share what we saw, learned, and enjoyed during our time at WordCamp Nepal 2025.
WordCamp Nepal 2025 – Event Overview
WordCamp Nepal 2025 was the latest edition of the yearly WordPress conference that takes place in different cities across Nepal.
The first WordCamp Nepal happened back in 2012, and since then, it’s been hosted in places like Kathmandu and Pokhara. Last year’s event was in Pokhara, and this year, it came back to the capital with the theme: “WordPress Reimagined at the Top of the World!”
We met developers, designers, bloggers, and business owners. It was a great chance to learn, connect, and be part of the WordPress community again.
There were many engaging sessions and hands-on workshops. But it was more than just a conference experience. It was about becoming part of a community that values open-source collaboration and continuous learning.
This event had something for everyone: a chance to enhance your skills, find inspiration for your next project, or simply meet others who share your interests.
For anyone from outside Kathmandu or Nepal, it was a fantastic opportunity to experience Kathmandu’s rich culture and heritage. Meanwhile, engaging with the global WordPress community.
A. Kicking Things Off – Contributor Day
WordCamp Nepal 2025 began with Contributor Day!
This event brought together both new and experienced WordPress users to contribute and help improve the WordPress platform.
There were several teams:
- Plugin Development
- Full Site Editing Training
- Patterns
- Core
- Photos
- Theme Review
- Documentation
- WP CLI
We also joined one of the key sessions, the Full Site Editing (FSE) Training, led by Prashant Sinkhwal, a full-time WordPress developer at WEN Solutions.
During the FSE Training, we were introduced to full site editing, which focuses on its role in the future of WordPress themes. He also provided practical exercises, showing how to create and customize block themes.
We also learned to use the theme.json file to manage global styles and how to combine different blocks to build complete layouts.
Overall, Contributor Day created a collaborative atmosphere where participants shared ideas and solved problems together. This reflected the spirit of the WordPress community. Guidance from experienced contributors offered valuable insights and encouraged teamwork among attendees.
The experience enhances skills and connects individuals with like-minded people dedicated to improving WordPress.
B. Conference Day – Busy Learning
The second day of WordCamp Nepal was conference day!
It was packed with exciting talks and workshops about WordPress. We learned a lot, met new friends, and had a great time!
The sessions were divided into 3 halls, and we participated in several sessions that were both informative and engaging:
Notable Talks
Among many insightful sessions, for us, 2 stood out for their depth and relevance:
1. “UI/UX Crimes: Are You Guilty or Innocent?” by Ishu Subedi Dharel
In this fun and interactive session, Ishu Subedi Dharel made us “design detectives.” We looked at the designs a website owner would use and had to find good and bad design choices.
It was like a game, and we laughed a lot while learning how to make websites better for users. She showed us common mistakes and how to fix them.
We left feeling more confident about creating user-friendly websites.

2. “Just Enough AI/LLMs to Make Your WordPress Site Smart” by Avinash Kundaliya
Avinash Kundaliya talked about how to use AI (Artificial Intelligence) to make WordPress websites smarter. He simply explained complex ideas so we could all understand.
Avinash also showed us a cool example of AI working with WordPress, like a chat feature that talks to users. This session gave us new ideas on how to improve our websites.
Other Interesting Sessions
We also enjoyed other sessions that day:
- “Invisible Influence of Design” by Aasika Neupane: Aasika Neupane talked about how design choices can affect what users do, even if they don’t realize it. She reminded us to design in ways that are honest and helpful.
- “Boost Your Local Business with a Google Business Profile for SEO Success” by Adeline Dahal: Adeline Dahal showed us how to use Google Business Profiles to help local businesses appear in search results. Her tips were easy to follow and very useful.
Between sessions, we had time to talk with other people who love WordPress. We shared ideas, asked questions, had random talks, and learned from each other.
The WordPress community is friendly and welcoming, and we felt happy to be part of it.
